Content Sources

KeysBattle primarily uses musical content from the Public Domain MIDI Exchange (PDMX) database. All content available on our platform is either:

  • Public Domain: Works whose copyright has expired or has been forfeited
  • Creative Commons Licensed: Works shared under Creative Commons licenses that permit use, distribution, and modification
  • User-Generated Content: Content uploaded by users who confirm they hold the necessary rights

User-Generated Content

KeysBattle hosts user-generated content (UGC) and does not supply files directly. Users who upload content to our platform must hold the necessary rights to do so.

Important: KeysBattle does not proactively verify the copyright status of user-uploaded content. We rely on our community to respect intellectual property rights and only upload content they are authorized to share.

DMCA Copyright Infringement Notification

If you believe that content available on KeysBattle infringes your copyright, you may send a DMCA takedown notice. To be effective, your notification must include:

  1. Authorized signature: A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
  2. Identification of copyrighted work: A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  3. Identification of infringing material: A description of where the material you claim is infringing is located on our platform (please provide specific URLs)
  4. Contact information: Your address, telephone number, and email address
  5. Good faith statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  6. Verification under penalty of perjury: A statement that the information in your notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

How to Submit a DMCA Notice

Counter-Notice Process

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may file a counter-notice containing:

  1. Your signature: Physical or electronic signature
  2. Content identification: Identification of the material that was removed and its previous location
  3. Good faith statement: A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
  4. Personal details: Your name, address, and telephone number
  5. Jurisdiction consent: A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located

After a Counter-Notice is Received

Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the party who submitted the original complaint. If the original complainant does not file a court action seeking an injunction against the alleged infringement within 10-14 business days, we may restore the content.

Repeat Infringement Policy

KeysBattle has a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We may also block re-registration attempts from users whose accounts have been terminated for copyright violations.

Our Commitment to Public Domain

KeysBattle is committed to promoting access to public domain musical works and content shared under Creative Commons licenses. We believe in preserving and sharing cultural heritage through music education.

The majority of our content comes from classical compositions and traditional music that are no longer under copyright protection. This allows us to provide a rich educational experience while respecting intellectual property rights.
